Foster Cat Productions

(aka FCP Theatre Group)

Foster Cat Productions is a Los Angeles based theatre company, founded by alumni of Atlantic Theater Company's conservatory program.

Our mission:

To shine a light on the lesser known works from great authors who have had a significant impact in the industry.

Most recently, the foster cats played to sold-out audiences at the Groundlings, the heart of the comedy scene in the west coast, where they put on hardly ever seen plays by Elaine May and Alan Arkin.

Last fall, the foster cats brought An Evening of One-Acts by Ethan Coen to Hollywood in a sold-out run that was mentioned in the LA Times. In the Spring of 2024 they ran a Festival of Jewish Playwrights in Hollywood with selected works from Ethan Coen, Shel Silverstein and Wendy Wasserstein!

The theatre company began at the very start of 2022. Launching with the musical revue, Putting It Together, devised by Stephen Sondheim.

Our desire is to strip away all of the excessive spectacles of the stage to really highlight the writing and the acting. People who have seen our shows have often said we remind them of a traveling troupe of actors who come out of nowhere with only the props they have in the back of their RV (except we don’t have an RV) and show everyone that all you need is good writing and actors who are committed to putting the dialogue front and center.

Foster Cat Productions is committed to bringing this sort of “punk theatre” to Los Angeles, introducing audiences to the most exciting shows they’ve never heard of!

about the cats

The name, Foster Cat Productions, is inspired by the artistic team's love for fostering sick and stray cats and finding them forever homes (~30 so far)! Below are our furry friends, who are incredibly supportive even though they’ve never been to a single show…!
