No One Will Be Immune

…and other plays and pieces

by David Mamet

A series of plays by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Mamet. Some humorous, some poignant, each play will shed light on the difficulties we all share in communicating with one another, opening worlds of discourse, mystery, nostalgia, and love.

In “Almost Done,” a young mother-to-be reflects on the stories she will pass down to her child. In “No One Will Be Immune,” one friend tries to explain to another why he stopped a plane from taking off at the last minute. And then, “A Perfect Mermaid,” imagine meeting the perfect mermaid: The body of a fish, and the head of a fish… was she real?

Nominated for The Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum Wordsmith Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022!

Three Guys Naked from the Waist Down

Book and Lyrics by Jerry Colker, Music by Michael Rupert

directed by Phyllis Katz

(founding member of the Groundlings)

The Foster Cats worked with the Drama Desk-winning author, Jerry Colker, who wrote new material for our very own production! Three stand-up comics go for broke and try to make it big, setting their sights on the Johnny Carson show. Some people might say the fate of the future lies in their hands. Others might not care enough to say anything at all. Armed with only their moderate wit and plentiful closets, they've got a hard road ahead of themselves, and no Netflix specials to bail them out.

This marks the beginning of a collaboration between Foster Cat Productions and producer Jan McAdoo. This production ran sold out every single night in Hollywood for the duration of it’s run, and was mentioned in the LA Times.

Serious Business by Elaine May and Alan Arkin

directed by Harry White

An immediate follow-up to Power Plays, we brought back the Alan Arkin piece and paired it with a newly staged Elaine May play. 5x Emmy Award winner Gerald Quist returned in his role, and additional members of the cast included Foster Cat Productions company members!

Performed at The Hobgoblin Playhouse in Hollywood- this play performed a limited engagement run, as an “encore” for Power Plays. An entire play was staged and memorized in less than two weeks, which was a huge victory lap for the artistic team.
